Our Next Film is June 13, 2023!
PSFC's Plow to Plate Film series’s screening for June is A Matter of Taste: Serving up Paul Liebrandt.
The media feeds an image of the celebrity chef as cocksure and invariably nasty to the sous chefs and kitchen underlings under their tutelage. The 2011 documentary A Matter of Taste, tracks the career of British transplant to New York, Paul Liebrandt, who gained fame in 2000 when he earned a three-star review for Atlas (excellent) from New York Times critic William Grimes when he was only 25. By chronicling Liebrandt’s ups and downs, hangups and insecurities, and chronicling his long road to redemption, the film challenges some of the easy assumptions about the life of these celebrated and talented masters of food.
